+- INTRO / EXTERIOR

A generation 1 997 Carrera, in the timeless colour combination of black-on-black, boasting a recent £11,500 engine rebuild by Porsche engine rebuild specialists, “Hartech”. The coachwork is in fine condition, with straight body panels, and no signs of previous damage. The Basalt Black (colour code C9Z) paintwork presents beautifully, with a deep metallic shine, minimal marks, and benefitting from our customary day’s worth of FGP detailing. This example is a non-sun roof model, offering a clean and uncluttered roof-line. The Porsche was specified from new with the 19″ Carrera Classic alloy wheels, which are in good, unmarked condition and set the 911 off beautifully.

+- INTERIOR / SPEC

A black leather interior fills the cabin and makes for a timeless combination alongside the Basalt Black exterior. The condition inside is excellent, with leather that has clearly been carefully used by the 911’s keepers. Areas that are prone to heavy wear, such as the steering wheel and driver’s side bolstering, look fresh and could pass for that of a younger car. Areas such as the carpets, dashboard, and door-cards are wonderfully clean, and all electrical items function as they should, inclusive of the air conditioning system, which benefitted from two new condensers within the last 15,000 miles / 5 years. In terms of optional equipment, the 997 is specified with 19″ Carrera Classic alloy wheels, Park Distance Control, and front seat heating. There are two remote key fobs present.

+- MECHANICS / DRIVE

With a comprehensive rebuild, including 6 new nikasil liners and an upgraded IMS bearing, completed by “Hartech” within the last 15,00 miles, the iconic rear mounted flat six is arguably better than when it left the factory. During the rebuild work, a variety of associated jobs were completed (detailed below), including renewal of various coolant pipes, which is a common requirement on the 997 generation of 911. Married to a 5-speed tiptronic transmission, the 997 passes through its gears seamlessly. We have just renewed the brake pads all round, providing brilliant stopping ability. The steering is tight and precise, with various suspension components renewed during our sales preparation process, and within the last few years (detailed below). Four new Kumho sport tyres are fitted, providing great grip and traction.
