Intro / exterior

This Porsche 996 is one of the last 996 models to be made, having been registered in June 2004. The car has been cherished by its previous owner for the last ten years, and has just undergone extensive prep work while in with us.. It is finished in the beautiful Seal Grey (paint colour code L6B4), with the coachwork found in superb order with no dings, dents or notable marks. The panels all align immaculately and the sides of the car are pin-straight. The car is a non-sun roof model, which offers a clean, sleek looking roof- line. The paintwork is in exquisite condition with a deep glossy shine, minimal marks or stone chips and protection provided by the full body soft head machine polish and hand wax that has been carried out while with us. Beneath the Porsche lay its original Porsche Sports Classic 1 alloy wheels, which we have just had removed, split and professionally refurbished in their original silver centre piece and diamond cut outer piece. The tyres are Continental Conti Sports with approximately 5mm of tread on the rear and 7mm on the front.

The black leather interior sits very nicely alongside the Seal Grey exterior and provides for a classy looking 911. The leather seats have worn well, the carpets and headlining are in as-new condition, the dashboard and door-cards look very well; as do the normal wear points such as the steering wheel and gear stick. Everything in the Porsche works as it should including the air conditioning, which we have just fixed by renewing the main pipe and re-gassing the system. There are some nice factory options with this car, including suede alcantara headlining, PCM satellite navigation, litronic xenon headlights and of course the aforementioned sun roof delete. The Porsche has two keys and one is a working remote fob.

The Porsche has been maintained meticulously and this tells through the way it drives. The 3.6 litre flat 6 engine mounted at the rear of the car performs perfectly with a beautifully smooth idle, blinding performance and a wonderful exhaust note. There are no oil leaks, no smoke and no untoward internal noises. The IMS bearing has been upgraded while in with us so this cause for concern has been nullified. The manual gearbox changes through its six speeds smoothly and the clutch is light with a positive engagement having also been renewed by us. The steering of the Porsche feels absolutely tight and provides great confidence to the driver when driving the car in a spirited fashion. The brakes stop the car with force, with relatively new discs ands pads to the front and the rears just renewed by us in prep for sale.
