Into / exterior
Presented here is the chance to acquire a very uncommon Porsche 911; a generation 1 997 Carrera S, factory finished in the fabulous Carrara White. Produced in late 2006, this example has the later, strengthened IMS bearing and shaft, as confirmed by the engine number. The coachwork of the car is flawless with beautifully straight body panels and no scrapes, scratches or blemishes to note. Our usual FGP day's worth of detailing has been carried out on the car, demonstrating and protecting the fantastic condition of the paintwork. Generation 2 997 19" alloy wheels are fitted and suit the 997 wonderfully, particularly alongside the Carrara White body colour. The wheels are in perfect condition, having been recently refurbished, and have Bridgestone Potenza tyres fitted with 5mm of tread to the front and 6mm of tread to the rear.
The Sea Blue leather interior is also in beautiful order and represent the low mileage the car has covered. Even the commonly worn areas such as the driver's side bolstering, steering wheel and gear stick show minimal signs of wear and no damage. Everything inside operates just as Porsche intended for it to, including the air conditioning system which has just benefitted from new condensers and thus blows ice cool. There are two remote key fobs with the car.
The Porsche has been cared for meticulously by its previous owners, which is backed up by the large folder of history that is with the car (details in the below "Service History" section. This meticulous care shows through the way the 997 drives and performs; the 3.8 litre flat 6 mounted to the rear runs beautifully, with no leaks, smoke, or untoward noises, producing fantastic performance and a lovely sound. The handling ability of the car is brilliant, with the suspension and steering feeling utterly tight, and the brakes are powerful, with lots of life remaining on the discs and pads. The gears are all seamless and the clutch is light with a positive bite.
Service history / sale prep
As noted above, the 911 has been cared for meticulously by its previous owners and this is substantiated by the history file that accompanies the car. Present is the original Porsche leather owners wallet, containing all of the original owners manuals and the fully stamped maintenance booklet. There is also a folder filled with paperwork such as invoices for work carried out, HPI reports, previous sales invoices and specification sheets.
The service intervals are as follows: 29/01/2007 - 1,638 miles, 17/01/2011 - 18,810 miles, 08/02/2013 - 33,789 miles, 02/03/2015 - 48,812 miles, 26/01/2017 - 57,242 miles, 27/02/2018 - 59,205 miles, 12/06/2020 - 61,832 miles.
In preparation for sale we have renewed the spark plugs and renewed the N/S head light washer jet. In the last three years the Porsche has benefitted from work such as: Renewal of front cross over coolant pipes, renewal of air conditioning condeners and re-gas of system, renewal of starter motor, renewal of tandem pump, renewal of coil pack heat shields.
