Here we have this extremely low mileage Porsche 997 Carrera S, which is in exceptional condition and has the later, stronger IMS bearing and shaft configuration, confirmed by the engine number, nullifying the IMS concern. The car is finished in Atlas Grey (colour code M7X) and the body condition is superb. There are no dings, no nasty scrapes, and barely any stone chips to note. The paint condition is equally superb, with a gorgeous shine, no blemishes, and no swirl marks thanks to the full body machine polish completed while in with us at Friends Green Porsche. The 997 sits on it's original 19 inch Porsche "Lobster" alloy wheels, all four of which are in good condition with Continental Conti Sport tyres fitted, with 6mm of tread on the front and new tyres to the rear.
The black leather interior is also in beautiful order, the seats are the optional extra sports hard back seats with shoulder supporting, which are found in a condition that represents the ultra-low mileage the car has covered. Everything operates just as Porsche intended for it to, including the air conditioning, which had a system refurbishment including new pipes in 2016. The Porsche also boasts an electric sun-roof, which unlike with the 996, did not come as standard on the 997, making it an uncommon feature. The car boasts a very high spec with features such as; litronic xenon headlights, sports hard back seats with shoulder supports, sun-roof, Bose sound system, PCM Porsche satellite navigation system, switchable sports suspension, alcantara headlining, steering wheel controls and seat heating. There are three keys with the car, including two remote fobs. The optional extra codes read as follows: 342, 375, 376, 425, 431, 446, 567, 610, 635, 650, 666, 670, 680, 692.
Mechanically speaking, the Porsche is absolutely faultless and is truly excellent to drive. The car feels utterly tight in every aspect. The 3.8 litre flat six engine performs perfectly, with no leaks, smoke, or untoward noises, producing fantastic performance and a heavenly noise. The handling ability of the car is brilliant, particularly when the sports suspension is put in to operation, firming everything up. The suspension and steering feels utterly tight, having just had the front suspension top mounts, bump stops and bearings renewed while in with us. The brakes are sharp, with the discs renewed in all four corners 8,000 miles ago. The gears are all seamless and the clutch is light with a positive bite.
